Mental wellbeing includes our psychological, emotional and social wellbeing. It can affect how we think, feel and act. It is important at every stage of life.

Good mental health and wellbeing is essential for living a happy and healthy life. It can help us handle stress and sleep better, make healthy choices, feel better and have more positive relationships. It can also help us deal with difficult times in the future.

Across the Thames Valley ICB local residents can access support and treatment for mental health via the following services:

If you or someone else is in crisis

If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis, it’s important to get help quickly.

In an emergency Call 999 or go to A&E now if:

  • someone's life is at risk – for example, they have seriously injured themselves or taken an overdose
  • you do not feel you can keep yourself or someone else safe

If you need urgent help but it’s not life threatening: 

Safe Havens – alternative to A&E

Safe Havens provide support for people experiencing a mental health crisis:

    Monday – Friday: 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM

    You need to pre book your appointments, you will be contacted within 48 hours after completing your referral form.

  • Buckinghamshire:

    01296 453017 for Aylesbury 

    (both open 6pm – 11:30 pm 7 days a week) 

Use  NHS 111 onlineor call 111. They can advise you where to get the right support, and you may be able to speak to a nurse or mental health nurse over the phone.
